Why Neena Gupta was jealous of 'Panchayat' co-star Sunita Rajwar
In a recent interview with India Today, acclaimed actor Neena Gupta admitted to feelings of jealousy after losing a role to her co-star, Sunita Rajwar. The two actors, who share a close friendship and are currently starring in the latest season of the popular show Panchayat, were both once approached by a young filmmaker for the same role. "I kept wondering why she would reach out to both of us if she didn't intend to cast me," Gupta confessed.
'Feel jealous when my friends/contemporaries bag a part I don't'
"Sunita and I are very good friends, but we look so different from each other. How can one approach both of us for the same role?" Gupta explained. The Badhaai Ho star revealed that she often experiences jealousy when her contemporaries secure roles that she misses out on. "There is a bit of jealousy. I feel jealous when my friends or contemporaries bag a part and I don't, but I also take it in a good spirit," she stated.
'Panchayat' Season 3 has fairly impressed viewers and critics
Panchayat's third season, featuring Gupta and Rajwar in prominent roles, continues to maintain the essence of its previous seasons, according to critic and fan reviews. The series, set in the fictional village of Phulera, revolves around an engineering graduate who becomes the Gram Panchayat Secretary due to his stagnant IT career. It co-stars Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, and Chandan Roy, among others.
