'Badhaai Ho' stars Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao get vaccinated
The stars of the hit movie Badhaai Ho, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao, have joined the long list of Bollywood celebrities to get the first dose of coronavirus vaccine. The on-screen couple posted about their experience yesterday. Rao left a comment on Gupta's Instagram post reading, "Aapne bhi teeka lagwa liya... wah (sic)," which is loosely translated to, "You also got vaccinated."
Lag gaya ji teeka: Gupta
61-year-old Gupta posted a video of herself getting the vaccine on social media. The post had the caption, "Lag gaya ji teeka (I got vaccinated)." The video shows Gupta getting scared of the needle when she was about to get vaccinated. But her expression of fear changes into relief soon. Co-star Rao also posted about his experience on the same day.

Separately, Rao talked about his inhibitions in his post
In his post, Rao wrote, "In the three hours queuing up for my dose, I was still contemplating whether I should take it or not. Much overthinking later, when the syringe finally went in, it painlessly relieved me of my anxiety in a matter of seconds. (sic)" Rao, who is 50 years old, said he received the dose because he suffers from diabetes.

Many celebrities have gotten themselves vaccinated
Before Gupta and Rao, many celebrities took the vaccine and talked about their experiences on social media. Actors Jeetendra, Paresh Rawal, Hema Malini, Kamal Hassan, and Rakesh Roshan have received the first shot of the vaccine. Interestingly, actor Saif Ali Khan also got himself vaccinated but had to face online trolling with people questioning his eligibility for the coveted dose.
The second phase of vaccination drive started on March 1
In January, the Centre had rolled out the world's largest vaccination drive which initially focused on healthcare and frontline workers. The drive was expanded on March 1 to include those who are above 60 and those aged between 45 and 59 with co-morbidities. As per the Health Ministry, 2,56,85,011 have been vaccinated so far. India's coronavirus tally stands at 11.28 million.
