'NC22' set to mark Naga Chaitanya's debut in Tamil films
Naga Chaitanya has signed his next. Tentatively titled NC22, the film will be directed by popular Tamil helmer Venkat Prabhu [Saroja (2008), Goa (2010), Mankatha (2011)]. Makers said it will be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual project and is being bankrolled by Srinivasaa Chitturi under his Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner. As the name suggests, it is Chaitanya's 22nd film and Prabhu's 11th feature film directorial.

His last directorial was the sci-fi action thriller Maanaadu, which got highly positive reviews from critics and audience. Most of Prabhu's movies have done well, so expectations are high. While launching the upcoming film, Chaitanya said, "Happy to be announcing my next #NC22 A Telugu-Tamil bilingual directed by @vp_offl and produced by @SS_Screens@srinivasaaoffl. Looking forward to this exciting new journey ! (sic)" And, Prabhu tweeted, "God is kind.. with the blessings of almighty and my fans I am happy to announce my next, a bilingual film (tamil &telugu) with my brother @chay_akkineni."

Film will have 'many noted actors,' said Prabhu
"I'm aware of Naga Chaitanya's strengths and the sensibilities of Telugu audiences. Hence, I have prepared a winning script for the movie. The film will not only have many noted actors but also popular technicians," Prabhu told media portals. To note, NC22 marks Chaitanya's debut in Tamil films and Prabhu's maiden Telugu directorial. Reports said Pooja Hegde might be signed as the leading lady.

Chaitanya was last seen in the commercially successful film Bangarraju, where he shared the screen space with his father Akkineni Nagarjuna. He will next be seen in Vikram K Kumar-helmed Thank You. Chaitanya also has a web series titled Dhoota in his pipeline. Further, he is making his Bollywood debut with Laal Singh Chaddha, which features Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
