Nawazuddin Siddiqui's brother posts derogatory picture of Lord Shiva; booked
Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's brother Ayazuddin Siddiqui has landed himself in trouble for allegedly posting objectionable content on Facebook. As per a complaint filed by a Hindu Yuva Vahini activist named Bharat Thakur, Ayazuddin had posted a derogatory picture of Lord Shiva. However, Ayazuddin has categorically denied uploading any such image on the social networking website.
Ayazuddin has been booked under IPC Section 153A
After receiving the complaint by Thakur, the police have registered a case against Ayazuddin under Section 153A of the India Penal Code. Also, a strict action has been demanded by Thakur against Nawaz's brother.
Ayazuddin has a different story to tell
Trashing all the charges leveled against him, Ayazuddin told a news agency that the complainant has twisted the entire matter. He clarified that it wasn't him but some other Facebook user who posted the derogatory image of Lord Shiva. He added that he actually confronted him for hurting religious sentiments. Ayazuddin wants the charges to be re-investigated.
A Police official explains what actually transpired
Hariram Yadav, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Muzaffarnagar, explained where Ayazuddin went wrong. Speaking to a leading daily, Yadav said that Ayazuddin wrote something to the effect that condemned the offensive FB post, but while writing it he also copied the picture which is the reason behind the entire ruckus.
This isn't first such controversy for the Siddiqui family
Back in 2016, Nawazuddin had faced Shiv Sena's wrath for being a part of the Ramlila in his hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh. The members of the far-right regional political party objected to a 'Muslim actor' performing in Ramlila; the shows were canceled last minute.
