'Motichoor Chaknachoor' trailer: Nawazuddin, Athiya in a quirky marriage drama
What happens when two strangers, desperate to get married for their own peculiar reasons, tie the knot and leave the rest to fortune's play? This is exactly the situation that the amazing Nawazuddin Siddiqui and two-films-old Athiya Shetty are engulfed in, in their latest offering, Motichoor Chaknachoor, a quirky marriage drama, directed by Debamitra Biswal. Let's dissect the trailer.
The film has Vibha Chibber, Navni Parihar in supporting roles
Apart from the lead duo (Nawazuddin and Athiya), the film features a host of actors such as Vibha Chibber, Navni Parihar, Vivek Mishra, Karuna Pandey, and Sanjeev Vats, among others, in supporting roles. To jog your memory, Athiya, who happens to be the daughter of Bollywood veteran Sunil Shetty, debuted with the Salman Khan production Hero, back in 2015, alongside Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj.
A promising tale of a quirky union between two strangers
As is evident in the 2.5-minute-long trailer, the film follows the story of two strangers, based in Bhopal. Pushpinder Tyagi (Nawazuddin) is a man nearing his 40s and had just returned from Dubai. He is desperate to get a maudi (wife). And then, there's Annie, a young girl, looking to marry an NRI. It's a promising story of a quirky union.
Had a great time playing Pushpinder, working with Athiya: Nawazuddin
Speaking about the film, Nawazuddin had earlier told IANS, "When I read this script, the oddly, straight laced and unintentionally funny Pushpinder (his character), really stood out." "His desperation to get married drives him a little crazy forcing him down some insane alleys of life. I had a great time playing a character like him and working with Athiya Shetty," he summed.
