Naseeruddin Shah to play hacker in Sonu Sood's 'Fateh'
Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah will play a significant role in Sonu Sood's upcoming film Fateh. The movie, marking Sood's directorial debut, is inspired by real-life cybercrime incidents during the COVID-19 pandemic. "Naseer will play the role of a hacker...it is extremely relevant and showcases today's true world," a source told Hindustan Times. Shah's last film appearance was in Kuttey in 2023.
Shah chose it because of it's relatability factor
Despite the release of the film's teaser and poster, details about Shah's character remain undisclosed. The audience will only discover Shah's involvement and character portrayal when the trailer is released. "He is very excited about the film and the audience's response to it, as it is extremely relevant and showcases today's true world. And that's mostly Naseer's choice — real and relatable stories — when he has to choose scripts," informed the source.
Expect to see Shah in the trailer
The source elaborated, "No one will get to know about Naseeruddin's association and portrayal with the film until the trailer drops. He will have a good screen time in the trailer as well, which will be released closer to the film." They also referenced his landmark films such as A Wednesday, Manthan, and Kuttey as similar films that were real and rooted in their treatment, implying that Fateh would take the same route.
Sood confirmed Shah's participation in 'Fateh'
Sood has reportedly confirmed Shah's participation in the film. Responding to queries about Shah's involvement, Sood said, "Yes, Naseer sir is a part of Fateh. He's got a phenomenal role in the film." In Fateh, Sood wears multiple hats as lead actor, director, writer, and producer. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead role and is produced by Sonali Sood, Shakti Sagar Productions, and Zee Studios. Its teaser was released in March.
