Modi's doppelganger to play PM in a film on demonetization
MP Ramachandran, who shot to fame last year because of his uncanny resemblance to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will soon be making his acting debut. He has been roped in to play PM Modi in a Kannada film called 'Statement 8/11'. A native of Payyannur in Kannur, Ramachandran grabbed eyeballs when a picture of him waiting at a railway station went viral.
'Statement 8/11' will glorify Modi's demonetization move
'Statement 8/11' will focus on Modi government's move to discontinue Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes, which was announced on November 8, 2016. As per reports, the film will hail Modi's decision as a victory in the fight against black money. Written and directed by Appi Prasad and bankrolled by Venu KH, 'Statement 8/11' is expected to hit the screens soon.
Here's what Ramachandran has to say about his role
The makers have recreated PM Modi's demonetization speech for the film. "There are 3 or 4 scenes that I have done in the movie. One prominent one is the PM's speech declaring the ban on the currency notes," Ramachandran said.
