'Unlawful': Nagarjuna reacts to demolition of N-Convention Center
Earlier on Saturday, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) partially demolished the N-Convention Center, a property owned by Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna. The action was taken following complaints of alleged encroachment. The demolition process was completed within four hours in the presence of heavy security. Now, Nagarjuna has refuted these allegations and expressed his intention to take legal action against the Telangana government.
Nagarjuna refutes allegations, claims ownership of land
Nagarjuna has issued a statement on social media, asserting his ownership of the entire land where the N-Convention Center is located. The actor expressed his disappointment over what he described as an "unlawful manner of demolition" and added, "We would be seeking appropriate relief from the Court in relation to the wrong actions carried out by the authorities." "The demolition was carried out wrongfully based on misinformation. No notice was issued prior to carrying out the demolition this morning."
N-Convention Center: A center of controversy
The N-Convention Center has reportedly been a subject of controversy due to allegations that it was built on encroached land from the Tummidi Kunta pond. This water body is a crucial resource for the city. The 10-acre property has faced numerous protests and scrutiny over these claims. Despite being under investigation for several years, no action was taken against it by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
