Nach Baliye 9's judges are not fair, alleges Urvashi Dholakia
What's the story
Urvashi Dholakia, whose elimination episode of the dance-based reality show Nach Baliye 9 will be aired this weekend, has slammed its makers for being partial "towards certain couples."
In the show, she participated with her ex-boyfriend Anuj Sachdeva, and was apparently evicted based on audience votes.
"I'm not ready to believe that 35 years of work leads to a low fan base," she emphasized.
Slamming
The actress questions the voting system of 'Nach Baliye 9'
In her recent interaction with Bombay Times, Urvashi admitted that she is struggling to come to terms with her elimination, especially when they have been scoring good marks.
"How can a couple be consistently moving up the scoreboard and yet be at the bottom four times in a row? Is this a dance show or a popularity contest," the Kasautii Zindagii Kay actress questioned.

"If 'NB9' was about young couples, then why bring us?"
"Where's the scoreboard to show where each of us stands when it comes to the audience's votes plus judges' scores? If the show was all about young couples, then why bring us in? If you've brought us on the show, then why partiality?" Urvashi asked.
Standing Ovation
We deserved to be treated fairly, feels the 40-year-old
Notably, Urvashi and Anuj were eliminated from the show despite receiving "a standing ovation from almost 300 people present on the sets" for a recent performance.
Highlighting that they deserved better, the 40-year-old said, "I'm someone who has survived in this industry through hard work. The actor, entertainer, and the artiste in me say that we deserved better. We deserved to be treated fairly."
Allegations
Urvashi claims some contestants were allowed to re-shoot their acts
She further alleged that some of the contestants "were allowed to re-shoot their acts" after some goof-ups in their acts.
Disappointed with the partiality, Urvashi said, "If we cannot pre-shoot an act, how can a re-shoot be allowed, especially when it's a live performance? In a reality show, you get one chance - you give it your best and you are judged on that".

"First time I have seen this kind of biased judgement"
"I thought I was signing up for a non-fiction show and not a fictional one. This is not the first time that I have done a reality show, but yes, it's the first time that I have seen this kind of biased judgement," she said.
Jibe
"It seems like if there's no drama, there's no prize"
Taking a sly jibe at Vishal Aditya Singh and Madhurima Tuli, whose on-set fights often make it to headlines, thus raising TRPs, the actress stated that NB9 "is not a dance competition, but a drama competition!"
"It clearly seems like if there's no drama, then there's no prize. I wasn't there to play the victim card or to fight with my ex," she asserted.
Experience
Performing with your ex has its own complexities, she confesses
However, despite the alleged unfair treatment she faced, Urvashi doesn't regret participating in NB9.
The diva called the show a learning experience, and "I'm happy to have stretched myself beyond my own boundaries."
"I didn't know I was capable of pulling off what I did each week, and that too performing with your ex, which has its own complexities," Urvashi was quoted as saying.
