It's official! GoT Season 8 will have multiple 80-minute episodes
It was all speculation till now, but HBO recently confirmed that Game of Thrones' upcoming season will have multiple episodes touching the 80-minute run time. The 8th and final season of the show, with only 6 episodes, will be the shortest in the series as far as the count of episodes goes. On Friday, HBO released the run times of all the six episodes.
Four out of six episodes to cross the 1-hour mark
Run times of the first two episodes were confirmed a few days ago, and yesterday, HBO released of the remaining four. Here's how long the episodes will be - Episode 1: 54 minutes Episode 2: 58 minutes Episode 3: 1 hour, 22 minutes Episode 4: 1 hour, 18 minutes Episode 5: 1 hour, 20 minutes Episode 6: 1 hour, 20 minutes
Production of the upcoming season began in 2017
Season 8 has been in production for around two years now and showrunners have been extremely secretive. They've even filmed multiple endings to avoid any spoilers. While filming wrapped in July 2018, post-production took a lot of time. David Benioff, DB Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger, Bernadette Caulfield, Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George RR Martin serve as executive and co-executive producers.
The much-awaited 'Game of Thrones' last season starts April 14
All information about the last season's story has been kept under wraps by HBO. Fans were recently treated with a new trailer, but it did not give any major plot points away. The episodes have been written by David Benioff and DB Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill. David Nutter, Miguel Sapochnik, David Benioff and DB Weiss will serve as the directors.
