
'Mufasa: The Lion King' locks premiere date on JioHotstar
What's the story
Disney's latest film, Mufasa: The Lion King, will start streaming on JioHotstar from March 26, the makers announced recently.
The film is a prequel to the 2019 remake of the iconic 1994 movie and follows Simba's father Mufasa's journey.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, the movie provides a fresh take on the story, exploring Mufasa's origins from a lost cub to the beloved king of the Pride Lands.
It was released in December 2024.

The voice cast of Mufasa: The Lion King features Aaron Pierre as Mufasa and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka.
Other prominent characters are voiced by Tiffany Boone, Kagiso Lediga, and Preston Nyman.
The film also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, and Beyonce Knowles-Carter.
The plot revolves around Mufasa's early years after losing his parents to tragedy, his friendship with Taka, and their struggles.

Hindi version
The Khan family added to the film's appeal in India
Shah Rukh Khan voiced Mufasa in the film's Hindi version.
His sons Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan were also part of the voice cast.
While Aryan voiced Simba, AbRam made his voice-acting debut playing the younger version of Mufasa.
The Hindi version also features Meiyang Chang as Taka, and comic duo Shreyas Talpade and Sanjay Mishra as Timon and Pumbaa respectively.
