Hyderabad boy wins the coveted Mr. World title
Rohit Khandelwal, nudged out participants from 46 other countries to be the first Indian ever to be crowned Mr. World. The Mr. World competition, was held at Southport Theatre & Convention centre in Southport UK. Contestants from Puerto Rico and Mexico were the first and second runners up respectively.

Newly crowned Mr. World, Rohit Khandelwal hails from Hyderabad. He got his first big break in the moDelling industry in a jewellery advertisement with Kareena Kapoor. In just two years, he has made his presence felt in print and TV ads, TV series and a reality show on Channel V. Before venturing into the modelling world, Rohit briefly worked at SpiceJet and Dell.
Mr. World Pageant
Mr. World Pageant is sponsored by the Miss World Organisation and its President is the iconic Julia Morley. The pageant was established in 1996 and is a biennial competition. Contestants are required to participate in a variety of adventure sporting activities like water skiing, mountain biking and running a marathon. Winner of the Mr. World title also takes home a whopping $50,000 prize.

The Mr. World pageant is held over 12 days and contestants are required to compete in five different categories of competitions: they are tested with respect to their physical endurance, sporting skills, talent & creativity, fashion & style and charisma & interactivity.
Mr. Khandelwal's other notable wins
Rohit Khandelwal bagged the Provogue Personal Care Mr. India 2015. He also won the 'Mr Active Extreme Challenge' in Mr. India 2015 which required competing against other physically trained professionals with 'mind & might'. At the Mr. World Pageant in Southport 2016, Rohit competed for other sub-titles as well: Multimedia Award, Mr. World Talent, and several others. He won the 'Mr. World Multimedia Award'.
What's next for Rohit Khandelwal?
Rohit Khandelwal aspires to be a credible film maker "who has the gift to weave stories - both fiction and non-fiction." He also hopes to continue to act and play meaningful characters in challenging roles.
