'Mickey 17' to 'The Monkey': Top movies releasing this week
What's the story
This week, a diverse set of movies is about to hit Indian theaters.
Oscar winner Bong Joon-ho is back with his next, Mickey 17. Meanwhile, Hollywood's latest horror hit The Monkey and India's first sea-based horror film Kingston are also viable options.
Or, you might revisit old golds such as Kumbalangi Nights, Lootera, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana on the big screens with their re-releases.
#1
'Mickey 17'
The wait is over—the latest film from visionary director Bong is finally here.
Robert Pattinson stars as Mickey, an "expendable" crew member sent on a dangerous mission to colonize an ice planet. Expendable means that every time Mickey dies, he's regenerated with most of his memories intact.
But when one version refuses to disappear, things spiral into chaos.
#2
'The Monkey'
It tells the story of twin brothers Bill and Hal (Theo James) who stumble upon their father's old monkey toy in the attic. What starts as an eerie discovery quickly turns into a nightmare as a series of gruesome deaths follow.
The siblings decide to ditch the murder toy and forget about it, but years later, it comes back to haunt (and hunt) them.
#3
'Kingston'
Starring GV Prakash Kumar, Divya Bharathi, and Sabumon Abdusamad, Kingston is India's first-ever sea-based fantasy-horror adventure.
Interestingly, with this, GV Prakash completes 25 films as an actor.
Set in the coastal town of Thoovathor, it deals with curses, sea smugglers, and paranormal activities.
All three releases will hit Indian halls this Friday (March 7).

Dive into nostalgia with these re-releases
If you are craving nostalgia, then this week will offer several re-releases, too.
There's Lootera, Vikramaditya Motwane's take on O Henry's classic The Last Leaf. Starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha, the film was originally released in 2013.
Rajkummar Rao-Kriti Kharbanda's hit offering, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (2017), and the multistarrer Kumbalangi Nights (2019) are two other great alternatives to watch this week.
