Title significance
'Empuraan' means 'overlord': Sukumaran
In an earlier interview, Sukumaran revealed what the title means.
He shared that Empuraan is a term of immense historical and cultural significance. It means "more than a king and less than a god," taken from ancient Malayalam and Tamil dialects, reported TOI.
The word speaks of a supreme ruler, an overlord, or an unquestionable authority.
Thus, Mohanlal's character is expected to explore unprecedented territories in the upcoming film.
