Millie Bobby gets brutally honest about farm life
What's the story
Millie Bobby Brown, the 20-year-old British actor famous for Netflix's Stranger Things, has opened up about her love for farm life.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, she spoke about the joys and difficulties of living in the countryside with her husband Jake Bongiovi (22), son of singer Jon Bon Jovi.
Although she knows about the trad-wife content trend romanticizing pastoral life, she emphasized such fantasies didn't lead her to live on a Georgia farm.
Farm life
'I'm doing it because I love it'
Brown told Vanity Fair, "I'm not doing it for the aesthetic. I'm doing it because I love it."
"There are maybe some trad wives out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not."
She further added, "If you're not picking up horse s--t or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all."
Animal care
Brown's love for animals led to veterinary studies
Brown's farm is home to several animals, including horses, sheep, goats, cows, donkeys, a tuxedo cat, and a therapy dog named Winnie.
Her love for these creatures motivated her to set up an animal rescue and study veterinary in 2022.
She has even purchased an ultrasound machine to learn how to check if her animals are pregnant.
Medical skills
Brown's hands-on approach to animal care
The actor revealed her hands-on approach to animal care, saying, "I'm able to treat wounds, take their pulse, moderate blood pressure, things like that. I do all their medical records myself."
She stressed the need to be actively involved to make a difference beyond temporary adoption campaigns on social media.
Her next step is an "externship" which includes observing surgeries and other procedures.
Nuptial bliss
Brown and Bongiovi's wedding: A glimpse into their love
Brown and Bongiovi got married in a private ceremony in May last year, followed by a grand celebration in Tuscany in September.
The actor shared glimpses of their wedding at Villa Cetinale on social media, captioning the post with "Forever and always, your wife."
Ahead of the wedding, Bon Jovi gushed about Brown joining their family to E! News. He said, "She's really wonderful and she and Jake are a great couple," adding that they are "madly in love."
