Age is just a number in Milind-Ankita's love story
What's the story
Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar, who have been together for a decade and married for seven years, continue to defy societal norms with their enduring relationship.
Despite a whopping 26-year age gap and initial public skepticism about their bond, the couple has remained steadfast in their love.
Recently, they shared insights into how they navigate their unique relationship dynamics, attributing it to mutual understanding and respect.
Relationship dynamics
'Ideas that she has are all different and incredible'
Soman admitted that he and Konwar are different, owing to their age difference and different backgrounds.
He told Indian Express, "She's 26 years younger than me, so obviously there is a huge difference in the way she thinks, in her upbringing and the environment she grew up in."
"The ideas that she has are all different and incredible."
But they have found a common ground where their thoughts, emotions, and spirits converge.
Cultural differences
'My life has only become better because of her'
Further elaborating on their cultural differences, Soman said, "She's Assamese and I am Maharashtrian, and we are as different as anything can be."
"We come from different generations, different parts of the world, with different languages and different food habits. Yet the fact that we have managed to find each other...that is something very special."
"I can say that my life has only become better because of her."
Gratitude perspective
'I can look at life from a point of view...'
On her part, Konwar shared that being with Soman has made her appreciate the present more.
She said, "When you are young, you don't realize a lot of things and put plans on hold for the future."
"But when you are with a person with whom you have that age gap, you tend to realize that each moment is special."
"I can actually look at life from a point of view filled with only gratitude," she added.
