Mika Singh sends obscene pictures to Brazilian-model, detained in Dubai
Singer Mika Singh was detained in Dubai, on Thursday, for allegedly sexually harassing a 17-year-old Brazilian model. The singer was last seen on stage while he was performing at a Bollywood awards ceremony. The gala event was followed by a private party. The model allegedly received obscene pictures from the Mauja Hi Mauja hitmaker. His team confirmed the news of his detention.
Mika offered the teenager a job in Bollywood
The teenager was promised a job in Bollywood by the singer, reports claimed. After the harassment, she complained and Mika was subsequently detained. The 41-year-old singer was questioned in Abu Dhabi. He was to perform at a private party in a hotel on Thursday night and was due to return to India later. Officials will produce him in court on Sunday.
He has sought consular access
Mika has sought consular access and the embassy staff is working on it. Indian Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Singh Puri said, "Our team is at the police station. We are working on it." He was held from a bar in Bur Dubai at around 3 AM. Notably, this is not the first time Mika has been accused of harassment.
In 2006, he kissed Rakhi; in 2016 allegedly molested girl
In 2006, Mika was accused by actress Rakhi Sawant of forcibly kissing her. It happened at his birthday party and the incident snowballed into a huge controversy. In 2016, a model alleged Mika molested her and filed a police complaint. However, he had denied the charges and claimed the woman was demanding money from him. He had said the truth would be out soon.
