    What's the story

Former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, has given her stamp of approval to Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis to portray her in an upcoming series — The First Lady.

In an interview with ET, Obama talked about how thrilled she was to learn of the casting choice.

A release date for The First Lady is yet to be announced.

    Statement

She is certain Davis will do justice to the role

Obama went on to appreciate Davis and her acting prowess.

She talked about Davis's vigor and passion and added that she is confident that Davis will do justice to the role.

"I feel that I'm not worthy. I wish I could be better to live up to the character that Viola Davis has to play, but it's exciting (sic)," Obama said.

    Actress' take

Earlier, Davis had said she was a 'little scared'

Davis, who is also an executive producer for The First Lady, had spoken about her apprehensions of stepping into the shoes of Obama.

"I'm a little scared...I've met Michelle Obama and...exactly what you think she is, she is. She's awesome. She's smart. She's confident. She's articulate, (sic)" Davis said, adding that she believes Obama sacrificed a lot "being in the White House."

    Plot

The series will focus on three former First Ladies

The First Lady is created by Aaron Cooley and will showcase the women of the White House.

"This series will peel back the curtain on the personal and political lives of three unique, enigmatic women (sic)," a press release said.

Michelle Pfeiffer will be playing former First Lady Betty Ford and Gillian Anderson will be seen as Eleanor Roosevelt, another former First Lady.

    Show

You can watch Obama on Netflix right now

You may have to wait a little more for The First Lady but you can see Obama, in her real-life avatar, on a children's show Waffles + Mochi, that premiered on March 16 on Netflix.

"I knew I wanted to find a way to continue the conversation about healthy eating and movement and Waffles + Mochi does it in a fun and creative way," Obama said.
