Karan Johar opens up on battling anxiety; pens detailed note
On World Mental Health Day, famed Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar took to Instagram and opened up about his personal battle with anxiety. The director has been at the brunt of several controversies. In this note, Johar mentioned that he first faced anxiety in 2015-2016. Initially, he thought mental health issues couldn't touch him, but soon realized the importance of tackling them head-on. With the help of a psychologist and lifestyle changes, Johar overcame his anxiety and eventually stopped taking medication.

Johar pointed out "red flags" and said, "For someone who does battle anxiety or depression 'simple solutions like' ... go for a drive !!! Meet friends !! Go for a holiday .... Get a massage ... these are red flag conversations to have and you must be educated enough in this zone to even offer advice..." World Mental Health Day is observed annually on October 10. This year's theme focuses on "mental health in an unequal world."
