American thriller drama series Yellowjackets, in recent years, has emerged as one of the best shows to keep an eye out for. Recently, Melanie Lynskey, who stars in the critically acclaimed show, hinted at some thrilling developments in the upcoming third season. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, she revealed that she had been privy to significant plot details and "huge spoilers."
Lynskey promised to keep the spoilers to herself
The actor told PEOPLE, "I had a talk with the writers and they went over the season with me and they gave me a couple of huge spoilers." "I don't know what they're thinking. I'm sure they're just sitting there going, 'Why did we tell Melanie anything?' But I'm not going to say them. I'm going to keep it to myself. But gosh, it sounds so exciting!"
Lynskey is excited to engage in discussions with the writers
Lynskey added, "Last season there was such a quick turnaround and it felt the conversation with [the writers] about the season happened partway through the season." "So now to be talking before the season's even begun and they have everything mapped out, it's just super exciting." To recall, Yellowjackets Season 1 premiered in November 2021, followed by the second season in March 2023. The third season will premiere next year.
Lynskey can't wait to reunite with her co-stars
The actor also expressed her eagerness about reuniting with her co-stars, including Warren Cole and Christina Ricci. "I just miss everyone," she said. "I'm like, 'Oh, I get to have scenes with Warren! I get to have scenes with Christina!'" Lynskey mentioned that she keeps in touch with her co-stars through group texts during breaks between seasons.
She is set to appear in 'The Tattooist of Auschwitz'
Lynskey, who began her Hollywood journey as a teenager, expressed admiration for her younger co-stars in the show. "They're so incredible, so strong and smart," she said. "They really know themselves." Beyond Yellowjackets, Lynskey is set to appear in The Tattooist of Auschwitz, where she will portray a writer interviewing a Holocaust survivor. "It's just great to be working and working on things I'm excited about," she concluded.
