Karthi-Arvind Swami's 'Meiyazhagan' holds strong; earns ₹14cr in 3 days
The Tamil flick Meiyazhagan, featuring Karthi and Arvind Swami, is doing pretty well at the box office, even though it hit theaters around the same time as Jr NTR's Devara: Part 1. Directed by C Prem Kumar and made on a budget of ₹35cr, it was released in both Tamil and Telugu on September 27. And despite facing tough competition, it's raked in some solid bucks at the ticket counters.
'Meiyazhagan' earned ₹5.6cr on 3rd day
Despite going up against Devara: Part 1, Meiyazhagan has managed to rake in impressive numbers at the box office. On its third day (first Sunday), the film earned a substantial ₹5.6 crore, bringing its total net collection to ₹14 crore. The film's Tamil version had an overall occupancy of 48.69% on September 29, while the Telugu version saw a slightly lower occupancy at 37.85%.
'Meiyazhagan' plot and star-studded cast
The film follows a middle-aged guy who heads back to his hometown after a whopping 22 years, causing some major changes in his life. Along with Karthi and Swami, the movie stars Sri Divya, Swathi Konde, Rajkiran, Devadarshini, Karunakaran, and V Jayaprakash in important roles. This family drama has been getting a thumbs-up from both audiences and critics!
