'Meiyazhagan' keeps up with 'Devara'; earns ₹18.9cr in 5 days
The Tamil film Meiyazhagan, featuring Karthi and Arvind Swami, is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. Despite competing with Jr NTR's Devara: Part 1, the movie continues to perform well during its first weekdays. Released in both Tamil and Telugu on September 27, it surpassed the ₹10 crore mark within three days. Now, it is set to cross ₹200 crore soon.
'Meiyazhagan' collected ₹2.65 crore on Day 5
On its fifth day, Meiyazhagan raked in ₹2.65 crore, pushing its total collection to ₹18.9 crore. The film had a 25.98% Tamil occupancy in theaters and was also released in Telugu as Sathyam Sundaram, which had a 22.79% occupancy on Day 5. The story revolves around a middle-aged man who returns to his hometown after more than two decades and undergoes life-altering changes upon his return.
'Meiyazhagan' features an ensemble cast
Alongside Karthi and Swami, Meiyazhagan features a fantastic lineup of actors like Sri Divya, Swathi Konde, Rajkiran, Devadarshini, Karunakaran, Sriranjini, Ilavarasu, and V Jayaprakash. The film is penned and helmed by Prem Kumar. After its Telugu release as Sathyam Sundaram on September 27 (Friday), Karthi took a moment to thank his Telugu fans and the media for their amazing support.
