Priyanka Chopra's cousin Meera finds worms in 5-star hotel food
If you are staying at a five-star hotel, the least you could expect is to have your most basic demands met: clean rooms, safety, an attentive staff, a safe meal, etc. However, during her recent stay at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in Ahmedabad, Bollywood actor and Priyanka Chopra's cousin Meera was shocked to find worms wriggling in her food. Here are more details.
Chopra shared video of food; accused staff of being 'untrained'
On Friday, Chopra tweeted a video of the meal she was served at DoubleTree, which had worms inside it. "We are paying a bomb to stay at these places and they serve us worms in my food," she wrote. She also accused the staff of being "untrained" saying, "You'll be lucky if they will deliver the right order."
Been falling sick since I checked in, says Chopra
Chopra said in the video, "I've been staying here for the past one week and since the time I've checked in, I've been falling sick, and now I see the reason. For the first time, I could see worms in my food." In another tweet, she wrote, "I wonder why do they charge so much when they can't even provide basics."

FSSAI responded saying they've raised matter with Regulatory Compliance Division
Notably, Chopra tagged Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, the Food Processing Ministry, and Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal. FSSAI said they've raised the matter with the Regulatory Compliance Division and sought time for resolution.

Guest at Hilton Jaipur also complained about worms; Chopra RTed
Since Chopra's Friday tweet, others shared their complaints of poor service experience at Hilton Hotels. One user, who stayed at the Hilton in Jaipur, shared a video of worms in his tea kettle. The user also shared a copy of the hotel management's response, wherein Hilton simply apologized. Chopra, who also claimed that the hotel staff just apologized and did nothing, retweeted the tweet.
Chopra asked for Hilton Hotels' license to be revoked
Last month, Rahul Bose charged Rs. 442 for two bananas
The incident comes a month after actor Rahul Bose shared his own bad experience while staying at the JW Marriott in Chandigarh. The actor shared a video claiming that he had ordered two bananas from room service and was charged Rs. 442.50, including Rs. 67.50 GST, for it. The two bananas were listed as a "fruit platter" on the bill.
