Who's 'Ketamine Queen' charged in Matthew Perry's overdose death
Jasveen Sangha, a 41-year-old dual citizen of Britain and America, is among five individuals recently charged in the drug overdose death of actor Matthew Perry. Known as "the Ketamine Queen," Sangha allegedly supplied the lethal dose of ketamine that resulted in Perry's untimely demise last year. Federal authorities have been monitoring Sangha for her suspected involvement in dangerous narcotics distribution.
Sangha's North Hollywood home: A "Drug-Selling Emporium"
Sangha, dubbed the "Ketamine Queen of Los Angeles," allegedly operated a drug ring from her North Hollywood residence. Officials assert that she used her home to store, package, and distribute various narcotics. The federal indictment describes Sangha's dwelling as a "drug-selling emporium," housing substances such as methamphetamine, cocaine, and prescription drugs like Xanax.
Sangha's drug operation uncovered in a March raid
Sangha's illicit activities came to light in March when she was apprehended for selling methamphetamine. During the raid on her home, federal agents seized 79 bottles of liquid ketamine and nearly 2,000 meth pills. This incident underscored the extent of Sangha's involvement in the narcotics trade, which investigators believe dates back to at least June 2019.
Perry's fatal ketamine overdose traced to Sangha
Perry, the renowned F.R.I.E.N.D.S actor, died from a ketamine overdose on October 28 last year. Investigators report that Perry obtained the fatal batch of ketamine through a broker named Eric Fleming. Fleming allegedly sourced the drug from Sangha. The actor, who had long struggled with addiction, was found dead in his home due to this overdose.
Sangha's ketamine deals prior to Perry's death
Court documents reveal that Sangha supplied Fleming with 50 vials of ketamine in two separate transactions weeks before Perry's death. The indictment alleges that Perry first sampled the drug on October 13, and Fleming delivered two large batches to Perry's home on October 14 and October 24. Interestingly, Sangha included "ketamine lollipops" as a bonus due to the size of Perry's order.
Sangha linked to another overdose death in 2019
Beyond Perry's death, Sangha has been linked to the 2019 overdose death of Cody McLaury, a 33-year-old Alaskan man living in Los Angeles. McLaury's lethal overdose was caused by a combination of ketamine, heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine. This case remained largely unnoticed until now. On the day Perry died, his live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa administered him ketamine without possessing the proper medical licensure for such injections.
