Markle's pasta preparation method drew criticism
Markle's recipe calls for placing dry pasta in a skillet with feta and cherry tomatoes and adding three and a half cups of boiling water.
The dish is then enriched with chard and kale.
"I will make enough that I can put leftovers in their lunch box," she explained about serving it to her husband Prince Harry and their kids Lilibet (3) and Archie (5).
Notably, she referred to the pasta as "noodles" in the episode.
Viewer reactions
'That's not food - that's punishment!'
Viewers slammed Markle's cooking skills, with one saying, "That's not food - that's punishment!"
Another viewer alleged that pouring boiling water over raw pasta violated "the basics" of classic Italian cooking.
Criticisms ranged from worries about the texture of the dish with limited water usage, to questioning serving leftovers to her kids.
One user even lamented, "Another American destroying Italian food."
"With so little water, the dish must be a gluey, sticky, starchy brick," added another.

She explained this decision by saying, "Now, I share my name with my children. I didn't know how significant that would be to me, but it truly means a lot, this is our family name."
