Manushi Chhillar finally addresses age gap with co-star Akshay Kumar
Manushi Chhillar, the former Miss World and now Bollywood actor, recently addressed the significant age difference between her and co-star Akshay Kumar. The duo appeared together in Chhillar's debut film, Samrat Prithviraj, and more recently in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Despite raging online debates about their age gap, Chhillar expressed admiration for Kumar during a conversation with Zoom. She stated her willingness to work with him regardless of his age and emphasized that casting decisions are beyond her control.
Chhillar defends her pairing with Kumar
Chhillar said, "Working with a superstar is good. You get a certain amount of visibility. If I talk about my first film, there was an age gap. They wanted to play the whole thing. In Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, there was no pairing." "We did songs for marketing. So they had to put two people together for the songs, but that's pretty much it, which is fine."
She doesn't see it as something 'atrocious'
Chillar further added, "I don't see it as something that was atrocious or something that shouldn't have been there. It wasn't like a love story anyway." To note, BMCM also stars Tiger Shroff, Sonakshi Sinha, Alaya F, and Prithviraj Sukumaran and has been directed by Sultan fame Ali Abbas Zafar. The movie was released on Eid alongside Ajay Devgn's Maidaan.
Chhillar expressed eagerness to work with younger actors
Looking ahead, Chhillar expressed her enthusiasm to collaborate with younger actors in future projects. After her debut in Samrat Prithviraj, she was next seen in The Great Indian Family alongside Vicky Kaushal. Then, earlier this year, she was paired up with Varun Tej in the aerial drama Operation Valentine. She is next slated to appear in Tehran alongside John Abraham, further diversifying her acting portfolio.
