New 'Jurassic World' film to feature new perspective; fresh cast
The upcoming installment will introduce a new perspective on the franchise, with previous stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard not expected to return. Similarly, original trilogy actors Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill won't be reprising their roles for this new adventure. Nevertheless, one constant remains: a script penned by David Koepp—the writer behind the original Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) films.
Steven Spielberg and team to executive produce the new film
The executive production team for the upcoming movie includes Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, along with Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley via Kennedy-Marshall. Sara Scott, EVP Production Development, and Jacqueline Garell, Creative Executive of Production Development, will oversee the project. The Jurassic Park franchise has been a global sensation since its inception in 1993 by Spielberg. It became a box office hit—grossing over $914M worldwide during its initial theatrical release.
'Jurassic World' franchise's impressive global success
The Universal-Amblin franchise has created six dinosaur films since its launch in 1993, collectively earning over a staggering $6B worldwide. While the initial films were inspired by Michael Crichton's novels, subsequent installments, starting with Jurassic Park III (2001), ventured beyond his narratives. The franchise's resurgence began with Jurassic World in 2015, followed by the successful Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018). The trilogy concluded with Jurassic World: Dominion (2022).
