Manoj Bajpayee's 'The Fable' selected for Spain's SEMINCI Film Festival
Manoj Bajpayee's critically acclaimed film, The Fable, directed by Raam Reddy, has been chosen for competition at the SEMINCI Film Festival in Valladolid, Spain. This makes it the only Indian film selected for the festival's Meeting Point Official Selection Competition. It is pertinent to note that the Spanish premiere of The Fable follows its successful world premiere at the 74th Berlin Film Festival.
'The Fable' to compete against global film festival winners
The Fable will be screened at SEMINCI from October 18 to 26, competing against winners from other prestigious film festivals worldwide. These include Cannes Critics' Week winner Blue Sun Palace by Constance Tsang, Venice winner Familiar Touch by Sarah Friedland, Cannes Directors' Fortnight Audience Award winner A Universal Language by Mathew Rankin, Locarno Film Festival Golden Leopard winner Toxic by Saulė Bliuvaitė, and Jia Zhangke's Caught by the Tides, which premiered at Cannes.
Bajpayee shared his experience of shooting 'The Fable'
Bajpayee, the lead actor in The Fable, shared his experience of filming and expressed anticipation for the film's screening at SEMINCI. He described the shooting process as a "miraculous and magical journey." Despite facing numerous challenges, including the pandemic, Bajpayee said they persevered to complete the film. He expressed his thrill about its selection for competition at both Berlin Film Festival and now SEMINCI.
