Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who last appeared in One (2021), will be seen next in Bheeshma Parvam. The gangster drama will hit the cinema halls on March 3, 2022, the actor said on Sunday. Co-starring Kerala State Film Award-winning actor Soubin Shahir, Bheeshma Parvam has been directed by Amal Neerad. Before its grand release, here is what you need to know about the much-awaited film.
Recently dropped teaser revealed Mammootty's character
Earlier this month, makers of the Malayalam film had shared an intriguing teaser, which showed us that Mammootty would play a gangster named Bheeshma Vardhan in the movie, while Shahir would essay a character named Ajas. Other than the aforementioned actors, the film also stars several acclaimed actors such as Shine Tom Chacko, Nadiya Moidu, Farhaan Faasil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj, among others.
Film is backed by a talented crew
Apart from directing Bheeshma Parvam, Neerad, a National Film Award winner, has also written the project along with Devadath Shaji. Neerad is bankrolling the project, too. While Anend C Chandran has cranked the camera, Vivek Harshan has taken care of the edits. Sushin Shyam is on board the project as its music composer and "Supreme" Sundar has choreographed stunt sequences of the film.
What's the film all about?
As for the plot, Bheeshma Parvam is about a former gangster, who now works as a maritime transporter from Fort Kochi. Following some unfortunate events, however, he is forced to revisit his past. As per Shahir, "There are several goosebumps-worthy scenes in the film. It's not a complete mass film, it's a small mind-game kind of movie. You will be stunned after watching it."

Reports said the film will be shown on more than 400 screens across Kerala. Meanwhile, Doha-based Truth Global Films has bagged the overseas rights of Bheeshma Parvam.
