Mammootty announces new film 'Turbo' with director Vysakh; poster unveiled
Following the tremendous success of Kannur Squad (2023), Malayalam film icon Mammootty has unveiled his next cinematic venture. On Tuesday, the actor announced his collaboration with director Vysakh on a project titled Turbo. This marks the third collaboration between the duo, following Pokkiri Raja (2010) and Madhura Raja (2019). He also unveiled the film's first poster, which quickly stirred excitement among Mammootty's fan base.
Mammootty packs best punch: 'Turbo's title-look poster
On Tuesday, Mammootty Kampany—a production house owned by the actor—shared the title-look poster for Turbo, featuring a powerful bloodied fist, on social media. It was accompanied by the caption, "Presenting the title look poster of our 5th Production Venture [Turbo] - Directed by Vysakh and written by Midhun Manuel Thomas. Get ready to feel the real power as we pack our best punch (sic)."

Meet the crew of 'Turbo'
Turbo is the fifth film to be produced under Mammootty's own production banner. While the project is generating considerable buzz, the names of the other actors starring alongside Mammootty remain undisclosed. However, details about the technical experts working on the project have been announced, with Vishnu Sharma as the cinematographer, Justin Varghese composing the music, and Shameer Muhammad handling the editing.
'Turbo' sequel to Mammootty's 1990 'Kottayam Kunjachan'?
Earlier, there were speculations that Turbo might be a sequel to Mammootty's 1990 action comedy Malayalam film Kottayam Kunjachan. Rumors also circulated that it would be titled Adi Pidi Jose. However, in an interview with Asianet News, the veteran actor refuted these claims, stating, "Adi Pidi Jose is not the title of the film, and neither it has any connection with the character I played in Kottayam Kunjachan."
Meanwhile, Mammootty's previous film 'Kannur Squad' earned Rs. 75cr globally
Mammootty's most recent appearance was in the captivating crime drama Kannur Squad, which was released on September 28. On October 16, Mammootty Kampany released the official global collection report for Kannur Squad, which grossed Rs. 75cr. The film also starred Kishore, Vijayaraghavan, Rony David Raj, Azeez Nedumangad, and Shabareesh Varma in crucial roles. Kannur Squad was distributed under the banner of Dulquer Salmaan's production company, Wayfarer Film.
