'Maidaan' collects around ₹38cr in two weeks, fails to impress
The sports drama Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn, has completed its second week in cinemas, amassing a total of ₹37.8 crore. Despite its strategic release during the Eid festivities, the film failed to attract large audiences. The movie, which portrays the golden era of Indian football from 1952 to 1962, saw a significant drop in earnings after its debut week's collection of ₹28.35 crore.
'Maidaan' experienced minor increase in earnings during its second weekend
Maidaan experienced a minor increase in earnings during its second weekend, collecting ₹1.45 crore on Friday, ₹2.65 crore on Saturday, and an estimated ₹3.15 crore on Sunday - the highest collections of that weekend. However, this upward trend was short-lived as Monday's earnings dipped to an estimated collection of ₹70 lakh and remained steady through Tuesday and Wednesday with an estimated earning of ₹75 lakh each day.
'Maidaan' struggled to generate steady revenue flow
Despite its earnings, Maidaan struggled to generate significant revenue at the box office, leading cinema chains to lower ticket prices in an attempt to attract larger audiences. The film also faced competition from Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, but neither movie made a substantial impact. Internationally, Maidaan performed slightly better, adding an additional ₹7 crore to its overall box office tally of ₹51.2 crore.
