Choreographer Saroj Khan not getting work? Long-time associate Madhuri reacts
It hasn't been long when Saroj Khan claimed to be out of work, adding that new age directors and actors aren't interested in working with a veteran choreographer like her. After her statement went viral, actress and long-time associate Madhuri Dixit has come out in her support and lauded her talent. Notably, Saroj has also choreographed Madhuri in her upcoming release Kalank. Here's more.
Saroj was replaced in 'Thugs Of Hindostan' because of Katrina?
It all started after Saroj revealed that she was replaced with Prabhu Deva in Thugs Of Hindostan because of actress Katrina Kaif. Katrina had, reportedly, refused to do the song without rehearsals. "There was a chance of collaborating on ToH. But as the shoot was coming up, Katrina told the makers she would not do the song without rehearsals," Saroj recalled.
Saroj has an element that no one has: Madhuri
Now, when Madhuri was quizzed about Saroj being without work, she couldn't stop praising her. After all, they have delivered hits like Ek Do Teen (Tezaab), Tamma Tamma (Thanedaar) and Dhak Dhak Karne Laga (Beta). "When this song (Tabahi) from Kalank came in, I thought no one can do it better than her. It's because she has an element no one has," she added.
Saroj is elated about choreographing Madhuri in 'Kalank'
Saroj is also elated to collaborate with Madhuri after four years. "Four years after Gulaab Gang, I have choreographed another song for Madhuri. Madhuri and I danced our hearts out and I am hopeful that after seeing it, people will remember Saroj Khan again," the veteran choreographer stated. Helmed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank is slated to release on April 17, 2019.
Meanwhile, Salman also extended support to Saroj
Not just Madhuri, even superstar Salman Khan visited the 70-year-old, after her claims went viral, and extended support to her. In their meeting, he asked Saroj about present projects. After Saroj told her that she had no offers, Salman replied, "Now, you will work with me." In fact, Saroj has already started training Salman's niece and Alvira Agnihotri's daughter Alizeh for her upcoming debut.
