Linkin Park reunites 7yrs after Chester's death; new vocalist introduced
The iconic American metal band Linkin Park announced significant changes to its lineup during a live performance in Los Angeles on Thursday. The band introduced Dead Sara's Emily Armstrong as their new lead vocalist, filling the void left by Chester Bennington's tragic death seven years ago. Additionally, songwriter and producer Colin Brittain has joined the band as a drummer, replacing original member Rob Bourdon who has decided to step aside.
Linkin Park released 1st new music in 7 years
Linkin Park also released a new single titled The Emptiness Machine, marking their first new music release in seven years. This track is the lead single for an upcoming album called From Zero, set to be released on November 15 via Warner Records. This will be the band's first full-length album since 2017's One More Light, which was released two months before Bennington's death.
Armstrong and Mike Shinoda performed classic Linkin Park hits
The revamped Linkin Park, featuring Armstrong and band founder-co-lead vocalist Mike Shinoda, performed together for the first time after seven years in Los Angeles on Thursday. The duo delivered an exclusive performance of classic hits like Numb, Lost, In The End, and Waiting for the End. These performances were live-streamed on Linkin Park's official website for fans worldwide to enjoy.
Shinoda expressed excitement over Linkin Park's new era
Shinoda, speaking about the band's new era, stated, "Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we're currently undertaking." He added that they feel "really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we've made together." The group—now comprising Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix (Dave Farrell), Joe Hahn, Armstrong, and Brittain—is set to embark on a world tour later this year.
