The film's production team boasts of Oscar winner Barry Levinson, celebrated for his work on Rain Man, and renowned American showrunner Tom Fontana of Oz fame. This project marks Fontana's debut in feature film production.

American Sweatshop will delve into the societal effects of social media through Reinhart's character, Daisy Moriarty. Moriarty works in an agency that scrutinizes harmful and offensive content posted on social media platforms. The narrative intensifies when a particularly violent video propels Moriarty from her desk into a perilous world, seeking accountability.
Emmy nominee Uta Briesewitz to direct 'American Sweatshop'
The film will be directed by Emmy nominee Uta Briesewitz, known for her work on Stranger Things, The Wheel Of Time, Westworld, and This Is Us. The production team comprises Jason Sosnoff, Levinson, Fontana, and Anita Elsani. Matthew Nemeth of City On A Hill fame has penned the screenplay. Kirk D'Amico, Briesewitz, Nemeth, Reinhart, Catherine Hagedorn, and Joanna Plasky are slated to serve as executive producers.
'American sweatshop' production to begin in Germany
The project, backed by the German regional fund Film und Medienstiftung NRW, is set to commence production in Cologne, Germany in the summer of 2024. Myriad Pictures has secured a deal with Baltimore Pictures and Germany-based Elsani & Neary for international sales. UTA Independent Film Group will manage North American sales. Separately, Reinhart recently finished her project Hal & Harper, which also stars Mark Ruffalo.
