Vijay Deverakonda-starrer 'Liger' gets a release date
Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday's much-awaited film Liger's release date has finally been revealed. Backed by Karan Johar, the multilingual, pan-India movie is slated to release in theaters on September 9, 2021. Marking the maiden collaboration between Panday and Deverakonda, it will be out in five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Here are more details on this.
We are coming, wrote Deverakonda
Revealing the release date of his first Bollywood film, Deverakonda posted, "The Date is set. India - we are coming! September 9, 2021 (sic)." Johar also took to Instagram and shared the new poster of the movie with the caption, "All set to pack a punch around the globe! #Liger is releasing in theaters on 9th September worldwide in 5 languages (sic)."

Last month, Johar released the first look of 'Liger'
In January, the producer had shared the first glimpse of Liger, showing Deverakonda in a fierce avatar. He wrote, "Presenting LIGER, starring the ruler of big screens and hearts - Vijay Deverakonda & the fiery Ananya Panday (sic)." "It's time to put a game face on," the makers had said in a statement at that time.
BTS pictures have already created huge buzz
Last year, pictures from the sets of Liger, showing Panday and Deverakonda prepping for the role created a lot of buzz on social media. Fans of the lead stars showered love on the fresh pair. Talking about working with Deverakonda, Panday had earlier said, "I have yet to meet someone so grounded and humble despite being such a huge star."

Directed by Puri Jagannadh, Liger will also star Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, among others. Interestingly, this film will mark Deverakonda's foray into Hindi cinema. He is best known for the Telugu superhit Arjun Reddy. Apart from Johar's Dharma Productions, the movie will be co-produced by Charmme Kaur along with the director's production house - Puri Connects.
