Liam Hemsworth's first look from 'The Witcher' S04 finally out!
The Witcher has a new face. Years after announcing that Australian actor Liam Hemsworth will be taking over as the new Geralt of Rivia for its fourth season, the makers have now released his first image. The Last Song star replaces Henry Cavill, who played Geralt since the show began in 2019. Cavill announced his exit from the series in 2022, aligning with his now-canceled return to the DC Universe as Superman on the big screen.
First glimpse of Hemsworth as Geralt revealed
The first-look image was obtained by Entertainment Weekly. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich told the portal, "His look has been in development for over a year, so it's thrilling to finally share an official sneak peek of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia." "We're having so much fun filming season 4 and are excited to welcome fans along on this journey with us." The Witcher's fourth season is currently in production in the UK.
Hemsworth joins returning cast and new faces in Season 4
Hemsworth joins returning cast members Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, and Joey Batey, who reprise their roles as Princess Cirilla, sorceress Yennefer, and minstrel Jaskier, respectively. Season 4 also welcomes newcomers Laurence Fishburne and Sharlto Copley. In a statement, Hemsworth expressed his excitement about playing Geralt: "Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt...I'm honored that he's handing me the reins..." "I may have some big boots to fill, but I'm truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world."
Cavill passed the torch to Hemsworth with enthusiasm
In 2022, Cavill wrote on Instagram, "In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf." "As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men." "Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him. Enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find."
