'Bangarraju' to 'Family Pack': 5 unmissable south Indian OTT releases
Ever since the pandemic broke out, the number of films premiering directly on OTT platforms has been on the rise. Moreover, many films released in cinema halls are also being digitally streamed shortly after their theatrical runs. From Tollywood's Bangarraju to Kannada film Family Pack, here are five such latest South Indian films available (or soon releasing) on OTT platforms that shouldn't be missed.
Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya's 'Bangarraju' to release on ZEE5
Nagarjuna Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya's latest Tollywood film Bangarraju is set to be streamed on ZEE5 after having a successful theatrical run. The film, which marked the second collaboration of the father-son duo, will release on the OTT platform on February 18. Bangarraju hit the big screens on January 14. The Kalyan Krishna Kurasala directorial is a sequel to Soggade Chinni Nayana (2016).
'Hridayam' to hit Disney+ Hotstar soon
One of the most successful Mollywood ventures in recent times is Hridayam starring Pranav Mohanlal, Darshana Rajendran, and Kalyani Priyadarshan. Though there is no official announcement from the makers regarding the film's digital release yet, multiple reports suggest it will be available on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar from February 18. Directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, the college drama hit the marquee in January 2022.
Malayalam anthology 'Freedom Fight' is available on SonyLIV
Malayalam filmmaker Jeo Baby had made heads turn with his much-acclaimed 2021 film The Great Indian Kitchen. And now, his next directorial venture—a short film part of the 2022 Malayalam anthology film Freedom Fight—has premiered on SonyLIV on February 11. Besides Baby, directors like Kunjila Mascillamani, Akhil Anilkumar, Jithin Issac Thomas, and Francies Louis have helmed the other short films in this anthology.
'Good Luck Sakhi' is being streamed on Amazon Prime Video
After several delays, National Film Award-winning actor Keerthy Suresh's latest film Good Luck Sakhi hit the big screens on January 28. Just two weeks after theatrical launch, the Nagesh Kukunoor directorial hit Amazon Prime Video on Saturday (February 12). The sports drama is currently streaming in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. Apart from Suresh, Aadhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu play pivotal roles in the film.
'Family Pack' is set to premiere Prime Video
The much-awaited Kannada comedy-drama Family Pack is all set for a release on Amazon Prime Video on February 17. Produced by late actor Puneeth Rajkumar's PRK Productions, the film has been directed by Arjun Kumar S. Family Pack features Rangayana Raghu, Amruta Iyengar, and Likith Shetty in the lead roles. The film is part of Amazon Prime Video's multi-film deal with PRK Productions.
