Lakshya to star opposite Ananya Panday in Dharma project
After the success of his recent action film Kill, actor Lakshya has reportedly signed another project with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. In a departure from his action-packed role in Kill, Lakshya will be seen in a romantic avatar, opposite Ananya Panday, reported Times Now. The film is scheduled to start shooting in 2025 and will be directed by Vivek Soni, known for his 2021 film Meenakshi Sundareshwar.
Lakshya's shift from action to romance
Lakshya's upcoming film marks a significant shift in his on-screen persona. After his impactful performance as an NSG commando in Kill, the actor is set to explore the romantic genre. This 360-degree turn from action to romance demonstrates Lakshya's versatility and willingness to experiment with different roles. His pairing with Panday, another Karan Johar protegee, is anticipated to bring a fresh dynamic to the screen.
Lakshya credited Johar as his mentor
Lakshya has expressed gratitude toward Johar for his guidance and support. Earlier, he recalled his first meeting with Johar, where the filmmaker assured him of his backing in the film industry. "I feel I've a guardian in Mumbai to look after me," said Lakshya. He added that both Johar and Dharma CEO Apoorva Mehta have given him the confidence to navigate his career in Bollywood.
'Kill' emerged as a surprise hit of 2024
Lakshya's last film, Kill, was one of the unexpected hits of 2024. The movie, which also starred Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, was appreciated for its intense action sequences and tight screenplay. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Dharma Productions, Kill established Lakshya as a promising action star. However, it also faced criticism for its violent content, deemed excessive for Indian audiences.
