Bollywood actor Sunny Deol has completed the shooting of his upcoming film, Lahore 1947, which is being produced by Aamir Khan. The film, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, is based on the acclaimed Punjabi play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai by Asghar Wajahat, reportedly. Detailing about the shooting schedule, an insider told Pinkvilla, "It's been a fantastic experience to see stalwart actors bring a magical quality to the film." "Once the edit will be locked, there will be a few days of patchwork...but largely the film has finished shooting. Raj ji has been very excited with what they have been able to capture. There have been several crowd sequences that have been shot," they added.

Earlier in June, actor Preity Zinta had announced the completion of her character's shoot for Lahore 1947. She expressed her gratitude toward the cast and crew, saying, "It's a wrap on Lahore 1947 & I couldn't be more grateful to the entire cast and crew for such an incredible experience." She also mentioned that it was "definitely the toughest film" she has worked on.
'Lahore 1947' to bring back hero vs villain era
The film's buzz was already strong, but the director has recently heightened expectations by revealing that AR Rahman and Javed Akhtar will also be involved. The upcoming movie also features Abhimanyu Singh as the antagonist. A source revealed that director Santoshi aims to revive the era of hero vs villain through this film. While no official release date has been announced yet, industry rumors suggest a Republic Day 2025 release.
