Gaga finally announces first single from her 7th studio album!
After much anticipation, pop sensation Lady Gaga has announced the release of the first single from her upcoming seventh studio album. The song is set to drop in October, as revealed by the pop icon in a recent Instagram post. This announcement follows Gaga's surprise collaboration with Bruno Mars on the romantic ballad Die With a Smile, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Gaga's teaser and recent collaborations
In her social media post on Tuesday (local time), Gaga shared a picture of her Venice schedule for the week, with "XX October: LG7 first single" marked for October. This suggests that the album could be released later this year or in early 2025. Adding to it, a representative confirmed to Variety that her song Die With a Smile will not be included on the new album.
Gaga's work process and potential collaborations
Gaga has been teasing her work on the new album for several months, sharing pictures of her in the studio and snippets of new music during the Gaga Chromatica Ball special on HBO. She also played multiple fragments for her fans outside her hotel during the 2024 Paris Olympics. A photo that surfaced last fall showed her in the studio with longtime collaborator Bloodpop and vocal producer/engineer Benjamin Rice.
'Nothing like anything that I've ever made before...'
During the premiere of the Chromatica Ball Film, Gaga revealed, "I have written so many songs and I have produced so many songs...It's nothing like anything that I've ever made before." In addition to her music, Gaga is also promoting her upcoming film Joker: Folie a Deux, in which she stars as Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix's Joker. The film is set to be released on October 2 in India.
