'Society is unkinder to women': Kusha Kapila on post-divorce scrutiny
Actor and social media influencer Kusha Kapila recently opened up about her life after divorcing Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia in 2023. In an interview with Fever FM, Kapila revealed that she completely shut herself off from opinions following her divorce. "I didn't have the bandwidth for it," she stated.

Kapila shared that her mother faced more societal pressure than she did, due to her more conventional lifestyle. "Unkinder to women, that society is anyway so I think that is something my mother had to go through," Kapila said. She explained that her mother had to deal with opinions from relatives and society at large, as she continued her regular activities like going to the temple or park and interacting with people.
Kapila reflects on challenges of being a public figure
The actor further reflected on the harsh realities of living in a society where progress is being made, yet some things remain unchanged. She emphasized the challenges of being a public figure online, where one cannot control what happens or how people react. "You can alter how you share your life now, going forward, realizing the consequences of sharing your private life with people but I don't think you get to pick and choose," she added.
Kapila addresses issue of assumptions about public figures
Kapila also addressed the issue of assumptions being made about public figures. She expressed frustration over people speaking on her behalf and questioned what she should explain or respond to amidst a range of topics. Recently, Kapila faced backlash following a roast by comedian Ashish Solanki's Pretty Good Roast Show, where she was labeled a "gold-digger." She responded by saying that such unkind jokes "dehumanized" her.
Kapila on rumors of dating Arjun Kapoor
In addition to discussing her personal life, Kapila also touched upon rumors of her dating Arjun Kapoor last year. She expressed hope that her mother did not read these rumors as they had already impacted her social life significantly.
