Will Kunal Kemmu direct 'Go Goa Gone 2'? He reveals
What's the story
Bollywood actor Kunal Kemmu, who has been a part of cult comedy hits like Go Goa Gone, Dhol, and the Golmaal series, has said he would love to direct the sequel of Go Goa Gone.
Speaking to ANI, he said he enjoyed working with Saif Ali Khan in the original film and would love to direct its sequel if given an opportunity.
He also said he wants to work with his mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore.
Directorial journey
Kemmu's directorial debut and potential sequel challenges
Kemmu made his directorial debut with the box office hit Madgaon Express last year.
The actor said, "If they ask me to direct a sequel to Goa Goa Gone, I'll definitely make it."
"It's very scary to do a sequel because, see, in the first one, people come with no expectations. But then they find something, and they love it... Now they're going to come to see the second one with expectations."
Sequel status
'Go Goa Gone 2' announcement and delay
The sequel to Go Goa Gone was first announced by its makers in 2018 but has not seen the light of day due to unknown reasons.
The original film, directed by Raj & DK, starred Kemmu alongside Khan, Vir Das, and Anand Tiwari.
It followed a group of friends on vacation in Goa who unexpectedly end up fighting zombies.
Comedy prowess
Kemmu's comedy career and 'Golmaal' experience
Kemmu has played significant roles in the Golmaal franchise.
Reflecting on his experience with the franchise, he said, "When I was called for the third one, I was like, where is the space?"
"Then, when I heard it, I laughed. I had so much respect for Rohit [Shetty]."
"Because in writing a story of three characters, a person doesn't know what to do. There are ten in this. And all ten of them shine and people love them."
