Did Kumar Sanu perform for ex-Pak PM Imran—here's the truth
Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu has strongly denied allegations that he performed at a concert pertaining to the "release" of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. The claims originated from a modified video circulating on social media, particularly Facebook, which appeared to show Sanu performing at an event. The singer has dismissed these allegations as "fake news" and an attempt to tarnish his reputation. Khan, meanwhile, is still behind bars.
'Audio circulating on Facebook not my voice,' says Sanu
Sanu addressed the issue on Instagram, sharing a screenshot of the news. "I want to clarify that I have never sung any song for Pakistan's former Prime Minister. The audio circulating on Facebook is not my voice—it has been created using AI." "Some people are trying to defame me, and that's why I want to tell my fans that this news is fake, a lie!"
Video first shared on July 26 by a Facebook user
The video in question was reportedly first shared on July 26 by a Facebook user who claimed that it showed Sanu singing at a concert related to Khan's release. The user captioned the video, "Imran Khan Wazir E Azam Banayenge Naya Pakistan ko Wapas le aaenge." However, subsequent fact-checks revealed that the voice in the video was AI-generated.
