Kriti Sanon to join Kartik Aaryan in 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' remake?
Luka Chuppi pair Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan will grace the screen again together if the actress is able to manage dates. Sanon is in talks for joining the remake of the hit Telugu movie Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo opposite Aaryan, who was reportedly brought on-board earlier. The original movie has Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in lead roles. Here's what we know so far.
Makers dug Sanon's chemistry with Aaryan
A source close to the development told Pinkvilla that makers really liked the Sanon-Aaryan pairing and the actress is also "keen" to join the team. But previous engagements could lead to a change in plan. Reportedly, the makers want to take the project to the floors by June but Sanon is slated to shoot for the Tiger Shroff-starrer Ganpath around the same time.
Sanon's busy schedule could play the spoilsport
Date factor seems to be the only trouble in paradise for the makers. Both the sides have reportedly agreed on "script, character, financials and all other factors." Sanon is currently managing her date diary and a final decision on the leading lady will be taken by mid-April. The source added that the makers are communicating with two other actresses.
Ekta Kapoor is bankrolling the project
As per the latest reports, filmmaker Ekta Kapoor will be producing the Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo with Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, and S Radha Krishna. Aravind, Gill, and Krishna had produced the Telugu original. Reports revealed that the pre-production is underway currently, with the team also working on dialogues and the overall script. Rohit Dhawan has been roped in as the director.
'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' was a sensation in 2020
One of the most talked-about films of 2020, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo managed to strike a chord with the audience. They loved the cast's performances. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the film featured Arjun as the protagonist Bantu who resolves to carve his own path after learning about his real parentage. It was a commercial hit and the song Butta Bomma went viral internationally.
Sanon could also feature in 'RHTDM' sequel
Meanwhile, Sanon is also in "advanced talks" with Jackky and Vashu Bhagnani for the sequel to Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. Released in 2001, RHTDM starred Dia Mirza and R Madhavan in the lead and skyrocketed them to massive popularity. Saif Ali Khan was also a part of the movie. Last year, Madhavan had clarified that he was not aware of any sequel developments.
