Kriti Sanon responds to controversial giraffe picture in Cosmopolitan photoshoot
Kriti Sanon's recent photoshoot with Cosmopolitan India stirred some controversy. The cover girl for the August issue posed suggestively with what people thought was a hanging giraffe prop. The cries of animal cruelty were raised against the magazine and Kriti. The actress finally took matters into her own hands and responded. She said the prop was, of course, fake and that she loved animals.
Why was Kriti trolled? The answer is here
Kriti wearing a black high-neck top, tassel trousers and black stilettos posed with a giraffe that seemed to be suspended mid-air. The picture came across as distasteful to netizens who rushed to claim animal-cruelty. Numerous angry tweets were aimed at Kriti, Cosmopolitan India, and the photographers. However, all the rage was unjustified as the animal was a taxidermied prop that was an art installation.
Kriti responds to all the online hate
Kriti put the matter to rest by saying, "It was a normal photoshoot in a palace kind of hotel in London; the decor was in the wildlife zone. It's all fake. I am an animal lover."
The magazine too rushed to calm angry netizens
Before Kriti, it was Cosmopolitan India that responded to the hatred. The magazine mentioned location of the shoot- Anyhoe Park, and how it featured taxidermied animals. Furthermore, they explained what taxidermy was and how the giraffe wasn't hanging, it was an art installation tied to balloons. The magazine defended itself saying they were the first in India to ban fur usage in their shoots.
Meanwhile, film commitments are keeping Kirti busy
Kriti, who wanted to get the message of women empowerment across through the shoot, must not be pleased with the flak. Separately, on the work front, she is keeping quite busy. She is shooting for her upcoming film 'Luka Chuppi' and will be seen in 'Panipat' opposite Sanjay Dutt. The 'Bareilly ki Barfi' actress will also be appearing in 'Housefull 4' starring Akshay Kumar.
