Manager swallows crucial evidence in Korean singer's hit-and-run case
The manager of popular Korean trot singer Kim Ho-joong has admitted to swallowing a memory card containing key evidence in an ongoing hit-and-run investigation. Identified as 'A', the manager confessed during interrogation that he had removed and ingested the chip from the vehicle involved in the accident. This revelation adds another twist to an already controversial case, which began when Kim falsely claimed not to have been present in the car at the time of the incident.
Manager had falsely confessed to driving the vehicle earlier
Earlier, A had falsely confessed to driving the vehicle. Adding to the complexity of the investigation, it was discovered that memory cards from two other vehicles used by Kim before and after the accident had also vanished. This discovery has raised suspicions of evidence tampering, prompting police to delve deeper into this aspect. The black box memory card from the accident vehicle is considered vital to ascertain whether Kim was driving under the influence at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, Kim was announced to carry on work as scheduled
The DUI bit is confusing cops as the crooner evaded police calls and only arrived at the police station 17 hours after the accident on May 9. Despite the Apgujeong-dong incident, where Kim's SUV collided with a taxi at around 11:40pm KST, the trot singer's schedule has not seen any changes. Shortly after his name was mentioned in association with the case, Kim's agency Think Entertainment issued an official statement, announcing that the artist's scheduled performances would proceed as planned.
