Kiccha Sudeep's 'Max' might clash with 'Devara' on September 27
The much-anticipated release date of Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep's upcoming film Max, has been a topic of widespread speculation. Initially, a Kannada cinema PRO suggested August 15 as the potential release date, but that didn't come to pass. However, recent buzz indicates that the team is now targeting an early September theatrical debut to coincide with Sudeep's birthday on September 2 and festive celebrations. The film is directed by debutant Vijay Karthikeyaa.
New release date for 'Max' sparks online debate
Social media is currently buzzing with discussions about the release date of Max. In addition to September 2, it also being suggested that the film may hit theaters on September 27. This new date has sparked debates among fans and netizens due to potential clashes with other major releases such as Jr NTR's Devara, Pawan Kalyan's OG, Karthi's Meiyazhagan, and Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan scheduled for October 10.
'Max' to face stiff competition in Karnataka
Many believe that a September 27 release for Max could prove challenging due to stiff competition from other films. In several regions of Karnataka, Devara is expected to dominate theater screens, potentially affecting Max's performance. Additionally, as Max is being promoted for a pan-India release, it may struggle to secure sufficient screens in other southern markets. Apart from Sudeep, the film also stars Sunil and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in pivotal roles.
Other Kannada films set for September 27 release
The September 27 slot has already been chosen by other Kannada films including Prabhu Mundkur's Murphy and Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 winner Roopesh Shetty's Adhipatra. There were rumors that Century Star Shivarajkumar's Bhairathi Ranagal would also aim for this date, but recent reports suggest a delay to October-November with an official announcement expected soon. If Max decides to avoid the September 27 date, the next major release from Kannada cinema will be Dhruva Sarja's Martin on October 11.
