'Vedaa' leaves Akshay's 'Khel Khel Mein' behind in advanced booking
As the Indian film industry gears up for a three-way clash this Independence Day with the release of Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa, advanced bookings have revealed a clear preference among moviegoers. According to early ticket sales, Stree 2 has taken a substantial lead in the race, while John Abraham's Vedaa has outperformed Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein in terms of advanced bookings.
'Khel Khel Mein' lags in advanced bookings
Khel Khel Mein, starring an ensemble case of Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, and Vaani Kapoor among others, sold only 2,683 tickets on the first day of advanced bookings, resulting in a collection of ₹11.38 lakh. On the other hand, Vedaa, featuring Sharvari, sold nearly three times as many tickets (6,636) on its first day of advanced bookings, generating ₹19.94 lakh in revenue.
'Stree 2' emerged as the clear frontrunner
Despite the competition, Stree 2 has emerged as the clear frontrunner in this box office race. The sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Stree sold an impressive 1.36 lakh tickets on its first day of advanced bookings, amounting to a collection of ₹4.75 crore. During the trailer launch of Stree 2, the makers stated their belief in the audience's ability to choose the best film and acknowledged that clashes were inevitable given the number of films being produced in Bollywood.
