There's no saving 'Khel Khel Mein' at box office
Akshay Kumar's latest film, Khel Khel Mein, has had a lukewarm response at the box office. The movie, directed by Mudassar Aziz and co-starring Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Vaani Kapoor, Pragya Jaiswal, and Aditya Seal, was released on August 15. It has since earned ₹26.01 crore. The film's performance is considered decent but not enough for a multi-starrer with Kumar in the lead.
'Khel Khel Mein' earned ₹19.35cr in first week
Khel Khel Mein earned ₹19.35 crore in its first week. The film's second-week earnings were ₹70 lakh on Friday, ₹1.35 crore on Saturday, and ₹1.75 crore on Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday, the film earned ₹85 lakh and ₹80 lakh respectively. The earnings dipped to ₹65 lakh on Wednesday and further to an estimated ₹56 lakh on Thursday, according to Sacnilk's early estimates.
'Khel Khel Mein' outperforms 'Vedaa' at box office
Despite its underperformance, Khel Khel Mein has managed to earn more than John Abraham's Vedaa, which was released on the same day. However, it faced stiff competition from Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2. The film may also face competition from Kangana Ranaut's Emergency, which is set to release on September 6.
Kumar's upcoming projects include 'Sky Force,' 'Singham Again'
Kumar has several upcoming projects, including Sky Force, Singham Again, Welcome to the Jungle, Jolly LLB 3, and The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair. He is also reportedly collaborating with Siddharth Anand on a project directed by Milan Luthria. However, there are talks of postponing Sky Force's release from October 2 to early next year.
