Akshay's 'Khel Khel Mein' struggles, earns ₹20.04cr
Akshay Kumar's latest film, Khel Khel Mein, has experienced a challenging run at the box office. Despite receiving mostly positive reviews, the movie has struggled to draw in audiences. As per Sacnilk's early estimates, on its ninth day of release, the film only managed to generate ₹0.69 crore. This brings its total earnings to a modest ₹20.04 crore since its debut alongside Stree 2 and Vedaa.
'Khel Khel Mein' vs 'Stree 2' vs 'Vedaa'
The box office performance of Khel Khel Mein has been overshadowed by the success of Stree 2, a horror-comedy featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The latter film has joined the prestigious ₹300 crore club after breaking multiple records with its impressive run. Meanwhile, John Abraham's Vedaa is also facing difficulties similar to Khel Khel Mein, having only earned ₹17.86 crore so far.
'Khel Khel Mein': A star-studded cast and international inspiration
Khel Khel Mein boasts a star-studded cast including Fardeen Khan, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, and Pragya Jaiswal. The film is directed by Mudassar Aziz and is an Indian adaptation of the Italian film Perfetti Sconosciuti (Perfect Strangers). Despite its high-profile cast and international inspiration, the movie has not managed to make a significant impact at the box office. Kumar will now next be seen in Sky Force.
